Halftime Speech - Jacksonville @ Washington
JT: What We Would Tell the Team
JaguarsTalk, for the past four months, has been saying to take advantage of Washington’s linebackers. It worked when the Jaguars did it on the last drive of the first half. In 40 seconds JAX marched down the field for, what should have been, at least a field goal. If we were Coach Pederson, we would tell everyone to calm down. Our penalties have killed us in the first half. JAX extended a stalled Commanders drive and got called on a 15-yard roughing the passer, resulting in an eventual Washington TD. JT would tell the offense to make short quick passes over the middle to build Trevor’s confidence and eat clock. A slow methodical march down the field. In addition, we would run it more. It feels like the Jags aren’t really running the ball much, but when they do, they gain chunks. JT would tell the defense to calm down and take a breath. No more senseless penalties. And we’d blitz more often. Rattle Wentz. We would tell the team the score should be, at the very least, tied but we just dropped two TDs. Penalties and dropped passes killed Jacksonville but they are still very much in this game. That is the JaguarsTalk halftime speech for the Washington game. On to the second half kick-off.
