Halftime Speech - Jaguars vs Ravens

JT: As if JaguarsTalk was invited into the locker room to deliver the halftime speech

It’s a Zay Day. One of the Joneses is coming up big today and it’s my main man Zay. Zay is having himself a game today, AND I started him in Fan Duel so there is also that. Six catches for 66 yards. He needs to break 100 and get himself a TD today. He seems to be getting open without issue. Feed him more in the second half. You know who else is having a day? JaMycal Hasty! On a day when ETN goes out early with a foot injury, Hasty grabs a TD pass and has himself some very important yardage heading into the half.

To the Offense: Keep it up. What more can we say? The Jaguars are leading 10-9 going into halftime against the Lamar Jackson. It gets no better than that as far as we are concerned. Keep it up. Maybe throw to Engram some as well since I also started him in Fan Duel this week. Swaggie was back on the sideline and dressed heading into halftime but if Hasty if playing this well then let’s not chance injuring ETN any further. Hasty and Jones are responsible for over 90% of the Jags offense today. What we really need to work on however is short yardage. We keep getting stopped on third and fourth down and short. Maybe a Mike Alstott type fullback would compliment the Jags run game? Just a thought. Keep it up O.

TOP is in favor of Baltimore by roughly 7 minutes. That is the fault of the JAX defense. So let’s address that.

To the Defense: It looked bad during the first couple Ravens drives but we settled in nicely. I’m still worried about Lamar containment but it seems that we often if not always have a spy. Problem is Lamar can get 5-10 even with a spy. The D line is doing a good job and some obviously holding calls have been “missed” by the refs, but all in all when the Ravens put together a good drive, the Jags tighten up in the red zone.

This may be the first Halftime Speech where we don’t have any real pressing adjustments to make. I like what I am seeing. I will say this. Trevor is staring down his receivers more than I’d like him to. I yelled it out loud during the TD pass to J. Hasty but I can’t get too upset since it ended up being a Jags TD. Keep it up JAX, we like what we are seeing against one of the best teams in the league, banged up or not, it’s the NFL and a win is a win. So let’s get that W.
