JT: I can’t believe Herbert is giving it a go

  • I, in fact, am more shocked that Herbert’s check signers are letting him play. Snap, Crackle, and Pop are meant for the cereal bowl not a QBs rib cage. The most amazing part of this entire scenario is that Chase Daniel continues to steal millions from the NFL without consequence. It is the single biggest heist in history. He’s made roughly $42 million for SIX NFL starts. That’s simply amazing. Though, I truly believe #41 and #44 will make a case for Daniel to dust off the old throwing arm at some point during the game.

  • So, which is it folks? Is Tennessee any good or is Las Vegas really not? I just watched the entire Raiders/Titans game and Derek Carr is definitely not utilizing his weaponry the way a better NFL QB would. I’m just not seeing a playoff birth for the 0-3 silver and black this year.

  • The Houston Texans fell to the hapless Chicago Bears this weekend. If JAX can take care of business today they will be putting some space between themselves and the other AFC South teams.

  • Doug P. is running Etienne quite a bit in the second Jacksonville drive. I even saw a screen pass to ETN. At some point Pederson is going to have to admit he’s been reading my pre-game columns.

  • Caught a video of Trevor Lawrence walking with Christian Kirk to the team plane bound for LA. Gotta say we like that the QB is hanging with his skill guys. It’s good for the on-field relationship. What isn’t good for anyone is the lid T-Law was rockin’. You guys are supposed to be his friends. See something, say something.

  • If you haven’t seen it, you need to see it. Buffalo lost to Miami. A story unto itself, as it seems Miami has done a 180 this year. But the real story here is that Buffalo got a two point boost thanks to a safety caused by a “butt punt.” That’s not a typo.

  • Lawrence and Kirk started their bond forming on the golf course this off season. That was a little in-between play blurb of information thrown our way during the first quarter of the LA/JAX game.

  • Oh no. Joey Bosa is down for the Chargers with 2:50 left in the first quarter. Never good to see anyone injured but especially one of the best players.

  • Jamal Agnew, on his first catch of the day goes for 15+ yards and a first down. I am waiting for the breakout play where Agnew channels his inner Tyreek and Greatest American Heroes his way past everyone. How was that show only on for three seasons?

  • James Robinson was undrafted. What? How did we not know this? Man card revoked. Jags card revoked. Someone else finish this column. This is plain inexcusable.

  • Marvin Jones Jr. with a huge juggling act catch down to the four yard line to end the first quarter. It’s 4th and three. Guess what Coach Pederson is going to do. If you said field goal then you are as Jaguars ignorant as someone who didn’t know James Robinson was undrafted. Inexcusable. But you would have been right. He took the points for a 3-0 lead. I like that call.

  • Maybe this is just me, and ya’ll can correct me if I am wrong, it seems like sometimes Riley Patterson can put the ball through the back of the end zone for a touchback, but sometimes he can’t even get it to the 20 yard line.

  • HELL YES BABY, DEVIN LLOYD WITH AN AMAZING INTERCEPTION. HIS SECOND OF THE SEASON FOR A FIRST AND GOAL SCENARIO FOR THE JAGS.

  • That’s seven take aways for the Jaguars this short season compared to nine total for all of last season. Twice Jacksonville has been inside the Chargers five yard line and twice they have failed to get a TD. I know it’s the Chargers but that issue has to be fixed. Big, big difference between 6-0 and 14-0.

  • Derrick Henry looked really good today against Las Vegas. Looked a lot like his old self and that’s not even counting a one yard TD run that Ryan Tannehill completely poached from him, and thus from my fantasy team.

  • ANOTHER TURNOVER ON A SACK. THAT’S A TWO FOR ONE BABY. JAX BALL ON THE LA 28.

  • The company just bought a new laptop for writing these columns and I tried swiping up to see how long this column was becoming and I thought something was wrong with my finger. I literally looked at my finger to see why it wasn’t working (my finger not the computer), then I saw the “MacBook.”

  • TOUCHDOWN ZAY JONES. Lawrence while scrambling just nailed Jones with a bullet. 13-0 JAX.

  • Anyone else intrigued by the Tom Brady vs Aaron Rodgers match-up? It’s tough to get worked up since opposing QBs never truly face each other. Plus GB’s running game is their strong suit this year and Tamoa Bays defense is theirs. Though, as I typed that the announcer for the game said that neither Brady nor Rodgers have missed a pass so far this game. It’s early in the second quarter.

  • And back to the Jags/Chargers game. Here come the excuses already. The announcers just questioned, is it Jacksonville’s defense or is it just the fact that Herbert isn’t 100%. The Jags won’t get any credit until they win the Super Bowl evidently.

  • The Chargers didn’t get a first down until mid way through the second quarter btw.

  • This week against Arizona, the LA Rams’ Aaron Donald just became the second DT in NFL history to record 100 sacks. The first was HOF John Randle.

  • HOLY MOLY. NO WAY. Evan Engram just caught a touchdown. How did he get his feet down. Ruled a TD on the field. We just don’t see enough to overturn this call. But we were wrong. They overturned it. That is almost more shocking than the original catch.

  • Another fourth and goal from the five Yard line. What does Doug Pederson do? Another uncharacteristic field goal. 16-7 JAX

  • So, back to the pre-season red zone problem of a lack of touchdowns. Four red zone trips and only 1 touchdown.

  • Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles look really really good this season. Today his Eagles beat the Commanders (who should 0-3) 24-8. Jalen Hurts was 22-35 for 340 yards and 3 TDs in the second quarter alone. They will be a real test for Jacksonville next week in PA.

  • Lamar Jackson had 5 total touchdowns today, four passing and one rushing, and he still can’t get a new deal from Baltimore.

  • Shaq Griffin is out with a hip injury. I mean I know you’ve been in the league for several years, Shaq, and you do live in Fla. but a hip injury? Seems a little cliche, no?

  • How in the world did the Colts beat the Chiefs. Matty Ryan with yet another career comeback.

  • Laviska Shenault, ex-Jaguar, went for a 60+ yard TD for the Panthers first win of the season.

  • It seems that the NFL, in week three, isn’t at all what anyone thought it would be.

  • We will end this column with halftime stats for the Chargers offense against the Jaguars defense, because really that’s who we care about most here…

    • 3rd downs 1/5

    • Rush yards 14

    • QB Hits 2

    • Turnovers 2

That’s pretty damn impressive for Defensive Coordinator, Mike Caldwell and the Jaguars defense. Keep it up in the second half please. Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
